God has been so good to us in the past months of broadcast.  And right now,  God is giving us another chance to call upon Him and prove His unfailing love and kindness.

Below are the following urgent prayer request for HCBN.

1.  Uplink Fee of 3 months – deadline Friday, May 22, 2009.
Below is the letter from Sir Tony Flores of TBN who received a notice from Mabuhay Satellite, the company who’s handling the signal for HCBN.

Boyz,

I received a demand letter from Mabuhay Satellite regarding subject outstanding balance for two months and if not settled by May 22, 2009 they will terminate our feed of HCBN. Please give this priority as we have to maintain our good standing with Mabuhay Satellite.

As of May 15, 2009 the billing for HCBN is US$33,000.00. The two months outstanding should make the account current.

2.  Ongoing negotiations for the national franchise.
The total price for the said franchise is $430,000.00, too cheap for a national franchise which grants us the right to freely broadcast all over the Philippine archipelago.  We are given 60 days to clear it financially. Though its very cheap for a franchise, one thing is we don’t even have a thousand dollars.  Only God could provide everything for us from our food to the staggering uplink fees.

We really are excited on what God will do this time as for man, it is impossible but with God, all things are possible.  Thank you for posting this on the prayer request on the GMI website.

Since we last wrote significant developments have continued to transpire. But before I relate the project highlights, I have to tell you about a special gift the Lord gave our family. After two years of work on this project with no time off as a family we were praying for a vacation. The Lord granted our request in a most amazing way! A student missionary friend saw our need and began praying about whether or not he should become involved in enabling us to take a vacation. continue

It’s been a long time since I have updated you with the missionary work God has entrusted me with. God has been very busy this past year in Thailand!

RENOVATIONS: Last year as some of you know, I was teaching English and Bible in a small city called Ubon Ratchathani, Thailand. I thought that was all the Lord wanted me to do but His plans are not my plans, not only was I a teacher but God had me over see a large renovation project too! Most likely if I knew this before hand, I would have shrank from such a great responsibility but in His wisdom He knew I couldn’t do it by myself but through depending on Him for strength, all things were possible with His help and the help of my Thai and Filipino church family!

The Resurrection Has Begun!

Earlier this year it became clear to us that this was going to be the year of our resurrection from our Lazarus experience. This is the year that the Lord would fund our projects and enable us to put the Good News of His soon return on the air to the world.

Three main things led me to this conclusion. The first is that this is the fourth year since our project “died” (our funding dried up) and our construction project stopped. As Lazarus was resurrected on the fourth day so this project would be resurrected in the fourth year. God is always on time! Second, I felt impressed that the TV station would be built in “troublous times” (same wording as Daniel 9:25). As I look around at what is happening in our world I am realizing more than ever we are on the verge of incredibly troublous times.

Dear Family and Friends,

After an absence of 2 years, I am taking an opportunity to travel to the US! So as you might imagine, I am working hurriedly to put everything in place here in Grenada so that things keep running while I am away and so that my time is well spent in the US. Unfortunately, Sue and the kids won’t be able to accompany me this time so please keep them in your prayers while we are apart.

With David Gates flying north from South America to Tennessee I couldn’t pass up the chance to fill an empty seat saving a bunch of money on airline tickets! We will arrive in Tennessee just in time for me to catch a flight to Las Vegas where the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) show will be held. (See this link for more info http://www.nabshow.com/ ) With approximately 125,000 people at the show all trying to see, learn about and buy broadcasting equipment it will be a hectic time to say the least!

Dear Family and Friends,

The past two months have been quite interesting with new twists and turns drawing us ever nearer to our goals of broadcasting the Good News to the world! New programming has begun to be edited for broadcast, new volunteers have arrived to support our upcoming construction effort, and we have been quite happy to be able to be a support to two other start-up ministries as well. One ministry just received a large boat that will enable them to do medical missionary work on the Amazon in Brazil and another ministry received a donation to enable them to stream Christian video programming on the web. The Lord constantly keeps us busy serving Him and He continues to bless us in the process. We trust that you will enjoy reading about what the Lord has enabled us to do and that He will bless you today as well!
