Tsushima Volunteer Mission Report – October 2016

Dear sisters and brothers,                                                                                                                  2016 Oct Report

How are you doing? We pray God will provide all of your needs spiritually and physically every day.

It has been 6 months since the catastrophic earthquake attacked Kumamoto city in Japan. Still many people have been forced to stay in refuge shelters, so I was visiting there every month to help those who need a volunteer.

Still the scenery of Mashiki town of Kumamoto is the same as when the earthquake attacked on April 15. 2016

This time God directed me to take a young non-Christian living in Tsushima Island for free to tell him about Jesus while we spend the time there together. In Japan, it is not easy anymore to tell young people about Christ directly because most of them hate religious things due to many negative influences from other religious cults. But if we have a personal good relationship with each other, we have a chance to open their hearts to tell them about our true God. So I was praying everyday to God so that a young man whom I met in Tsushima would open his heart to reading the Bible with me. While working together on Kumamoto we got to know each other and became a good friends.

We worked a whole day for those who lost their home and needed our help to harvest their sweet potatoes in their vast plantation. My arms and legs were very sore after working hard there but my heart was filled with joy because of their happy smiles.

When we were on our way home, God gave me the spiritual courage to tell him about the true God. Praise the Lord!! By God’s miracle, God opened his heart to Jesus and he told me that he would like to know Jesus more and accepted to study the Bible with me after we went back to our island. I was very glad I had taken him to Kumamoto and was thankful that God provided all the money needed to go there with him.

Please pray for Naoki standing on the right side. He is looking for the truth and wants to know our true God by studying Bible with me from now.

Please pray for him. In Japan, it is becoming rare to see young Adventists in church. The average age of Japanese Adventists is over 65 years old. We need more young Adventists to spread the Gospel all over Japan.

Thank you very much for your prayer and support. May god bless you richly!!
