How it all began … I just came back from my two months of mission in the deepest jungle, which didn’t only change my life, but turned my future up-side-down. After weeks that seemed like ages, I finally got the letter that assured me that I had been accepted in nursing school….

God has been very good to us this past year, so good in fact that we haven’t had time to share His blessings to us with you. The people of Guyana have truly made us feel at home, though we’re not really sure where home is yet. We are still in our little 12 x 16 cabin in Bethany and spend 2-3 days a week in a friend’s bedroom in Georgetown…

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas, as we did here. I was hoping to get a letter out before Christmas to wish everyone a Merry Christmas, but it just didn’t happen. Ted, Connie and I left Santa Cruz on Sunday night Dec. 17, along with Missy, Brienna, Helen, Jarrod, and 5 little boys. We were on a “bed bus” which was really nice, because the seats reclined quite a bit and there were leg rests.
We drove all night and arrived in Trinidad the next morning, where we caught a taxi to the airport. Jeff was planning to make three flights to fly us all to Rurre. The road to Trinidad is paved, so it’s no problem going that far by bus, but from there to Rurre is not, and with rainy season it can take a couple days to cover that section of road.
