On January 30 we met with Kurt and Vina at the Flight Base airstrip in Bethany. Kurt and Vina have decided to dedicate their lives to serving God completely as volunteers. They made
this decision less than three months ago. The Lord heard their prayer of surrender and the doors began to open. In December, while doing a clinic with Dr. John Wilson from Davis Memorial Hospital, we discovered that the village of Kwabana was in need of a Community Health Worker (similar to an LPN). Knowing that Vina had worked as a Community Health Worker for many years in the village of Bethany, I approached her and her husband about going to Kwabana. They were immediately interested. The Holy Spirit had already been preparing their hearts. As we gathered beside N1756C, the GAMAS Cessna 180, we prayed for a safe flight and a positive reception from the village Captain and Council. God Stopped the Rain- Davis Indian Industrial College

It was at the beginning of December 2006 when we heard that the SDA church from Paruima was going on a mission trip to Venezuela. We thought it would be nice to join them so we called San Rafael, the village they were going to on the radio to ask permission to join the church group. They told us that they would love to have us there but they had to talk also to the soldiers and see if they allow us foreigner teachers to come. I was so excited about going, but the students were not too happy. There is no road between Guyana and Venezuela – walking is the only way to get there and that’s why they were not happy about it. We waited for their answer and five days before we were supposed to leave we were told we cannot go. I was very disappointed. Continue reading ‘God Stopped the Rain- Davis Indian Industrial College’
2007 is already slipping quickly away, and my last update was way back when Cherise was born. She is growing quickly and will soon be 7 months old already! It doesn’t seem possible. At that point I believe we were hoping to be in Cameroon (Africa) by September, but here we are in February and we are still in the heathen land (the USA!). In some ways this is good, and we can see God leading and we are trusting His timing, but at the same time we are very anxious to get to Africa and get things going there.
There are several reasons for the delay. One is very exciting, Continue reading ‘AMA Africa- Preparing the way’
A Tree, my Father, and me
Here I am, a 42-year old “girl†up in a tree. And while I am looking down to the ground I realize to do this proves to be a mistake. I once saw a picture of the Grand Canyon, that displayed the view from a high plateau down to the river… and this sight into the chasm showed a significant similarity with the incredible depth I now stare down to… “Uh, Father, estimating it from the ground it didn’t look that high! How in all the world did I come up here?!’ Continue reading ‘A Tree, my Father, and me’

Short Version of Events:
- We’ve cleared land for three classrooms; one has been started. Progress is slow because of rain and Carnival.
- The baby is doing well. Missy’s parents are planning to adopt her.
- I was offered another baby, but we didn’t take him because it was the grandma trying to get rid of him, but his mom wanted him.
- Ted ran into a poisonous snake while clearing land for the classrooms. He wasn’t bit. We thank God for his protection. Continue reading ‘Familia Feliz Orphanage Miracles’
Kimbia Mission Academy: The Elisha Experience
0 Comments Published by admin February 19th, 2007 in Kimbia Mission Academy (Berbice River)Let me tell you of my “Elisha” experience. We took the unfinished boat to a small church in Ebini that we are still trying to grow into a company. All of the kids that were left on campus, approx 40 and the staff jumped on and went sailing up the river excitedly singing as we went. We had church and the “Ship of Zion” (that’s the boats name) took us safely home to KMA.
Then we took the boat across the river to the Kimbia church for AY (I’m the new AY leader). Just as we reached the churches dock, a strange screeching sound was heard and the boat stopped just short of the dock. Continue reading ‘Kimbia Mission Academy: The Elisha Experience’

AMA Philippines is devoted to the forwarding of God’s message of hope and love. This project will assist local missionaries, Bible workers and medical workers by flying them into remote areas. With limited workers and resources it is necessary to get these volunteers from one needy location to another as quickly as possible. Due to mountainous terrain and dense forests, work areas are inaccessible by airplane. But with a helicopter’s capabilities, we are able to turn a worker’s multi-day journey into mere minutes. Many medical emergencies that would otherwise have tragic results can end positively.
Through the assistance of donors and volunteers we are able to advance God’s purpose and fulfill the gospel commission.
