DIIC | Mission Trip Report, 2007

“Are we going to be able to go?†This question weighed heavily on everyone’s mind as we nervously watched the river’s water level drop during the weeks prior to our spring mission trip. This was a factor of great importance as we were to travel by boat. It was mid-February, the beginning of dry season, and no rain had significantly fallen for several weeks.
Just four days before our scheduled departure it was found that our boat’s engine had a gas leak. It was soon fixed, but to allow time for further observation the trip was postponed one week. The river dropped more. We prayed more. It seemed that God may have had other plans for us after all. Two days before our departure it rained during the night. We were filled with hope, but the villagers were skeptical and assured us that it wouldn’t change the water level enough. In spite of this we canceled classes and told the students to pack their bags. The morning dawned and the river was six feet higher! What an amazing God! He needed to teach us that He doesn’t need rain to fill a river, just a little faith. Continue reading ‘DIIC | Mission Trip Report, 2007′

THE SCHOOL
The school was started 4 years ago by some church members in GuayaramerÃn (Guayara for short) in cooperation with David Gates. It is operated under the parent organization Gospel Ministry International. It is run as a faith based school, meaning we do not actively seek donations, leaving it to God to impress people to give as needs arise. Every month we see evidence of God’s watch care over us as we always have enough to get through.
New students are accepted in the first and second years only, so that we can maximize our time of influence over them and also because the education system here is not very good, so the students come with only a basic knowledge of core subjects. The school is in its fourth year and will have its first graduation this November.

GMI’s Outreach Project

On 2004 I came to USA with my wife Estefana, and now we have our little son: John Anson. Since then we have been working for and with the Hispanic Church group of Mahanaim (now in 4252 Lineberger Rd. Stanley, NC 28164) and also supporting some other churches in Charlotte, Belmont, Gastonia and surroundings.
One of the biggest or most important efforts was in the visitation of church members and new believers, organizing and encouraging small groups, besides giving Bible studies. We also distributed Christian materials through door-to-door ministry and church booth at public gatherings.
The Bibles and books and other materials has been mainly donated by many of the donors of GMI, and through GMI we have been able to do all this outreach. Continue reading ‘GMI’s Outreach Project’

Our family has enjoyed a nice break during the past five weeks in the States. It has been great to see family and friends and we are encouraged by the energetic response from many individuals who are ready to help BMMC grow. It is wonderful to develop new relationships and bonds with fellow Christians who are excited about advancing the Lord’s work.
ELECTRICAL SYSTEM AND BOAT
We are happy to report that funds have been donated for solar panels and batteries that will power our campus at night. Although our future students are unaware of this latest development, we are sure that it will “brighten up†their day and night. Each building currently has power to a main junction box, yet much work still remains to finish wiring on the inside of the buildings. We are also excited that funds have been donated to purchase an aluminum boat. Having this boat will save a tremendous amount of time and money and provide many more outreach opportunities for our students.

Red ADvenir Bolivia is nowadays hands on work with two big projects: The first, that we already posted in the past, is to continue the construction work to renew the channel building and infrastructure. All workers from the station have put their hands on the project and helped in anything needed: cleaning, painting, moving furnitures, etc. This project went out of money in a pair of occasions, but God provided the necessary funds to continue this work in both cases.

Spotlight | His Image Ministries - Montreal

On October 29th, 2006 a small group of Seventh Day Adventist youth from Montreal were inspired by watching a sermon called “Risking it All” by Pastor David Gates. In the sermon, Pastor Gates relates how through faith in God, his organization was able to purchase a television station with essentially no money. Witnessing such astounding fulfillment of God’s promises moved them with hope and courage to do something for their “corner of the vineyard”.
At first, the decision was made to just start a evangelistic focussed, 24/7 Christian Urban Network that would stream from the internet and expand from there. But then it was noticed that something more was needed. If you go to the “Hope for Big Cities” website ( hope4cities.org) there is only one city there listed for North America, and that is Montreal. For as it stands, Montreal has about 3.4 million people living on the island, and about 7 million in the entire Province. Continue reading ‘Spotlight | His Image Ministries - Montreal’
