UPDATES FROM OCI MISSION PROJECTS

I’m sure most of you are aware of the earthquake that took place in Peru last week. This morning we received the following e-mail from Edie, of Peru Projects. Your prayers and support will be appreciated.

From some of the emails that I’ve been getting I thought I would let you know that we are safe here in Pucallpa. The quake was felt here, but praise the Lord not much damage was reported, and no injuries or deaths. At our airbase, we sustained no damage. Praise the Lord!!!

As I’m sure many have seen, the coastal region did not fare so well: the latest report is over 500 dead, a thousand injured, and in one city alone they are reporting that 80,000 have lost everything. There are reports of looting and robbing trucks that pass by carrying food because there is no food in some of these towns.

Dear Family and Friends,

It’s been a long time since we last wrote and I am sure you are all sitting on pins and needles waiting to hear what is happening! Well in short we are continuing in the transition phase from our “Lazarus Experience” as the Lord communicated to us earlier this year. And as time marches on we are growing more excited. We keep seeing God direct various steps in preparation for the final big ones that will put everything in place. In every direction we look we see the work converging on the goal. We hope you enjoy reading this update and sharing with us in all that has been happening!

EXPERIENCES & TESTIMONIES

stage.jpgThese are some of the highlights and wonderful testimonies we lived at the ASI International Convention, which was held August 1st till 4th, 2007, in Louisville, Kentucky, USA.

One of our GMI team members: José Luis Santa Cruz, who is in charge of the Burkina Faso Project in Africa had a few very interesting experiences. First, his flight to USA had delays and things were not turning out as they should. As normal in us human beings, he got worried about all the details he could not take care anymore, but trusted in the Lord and knew that He would take care of everything, and also asked Him: “Please God, help me to know why you are permitting all these changes, and for what. Show me Your Plan”. And God did. José Luis was able to testify about Jesus to a person in the airport. Then he testified to another person (who also was from Bolivia as José Luis), who on the other hand helped him to get some tickets to eat at the hotel were he had to stay that night (as he could not take the airplane to the next city). Both were highly blessed with this encounter. Then on the next day, José Luis should meet with Voola Ravi Kumar, our Contact Person in India, but again things t urned out completely different and they never got to find each other. God again had bigger and better plans in mind. José Luis ended up meeting with a friend he had not seen for years, and he happened to be the person with whom he could stay that night, and also could talk to people who had stored big blessing for him and his project in Africa.
