Hi Everyone,

As I was looking back to see where I left off last time, I realize that it`s been a couple of months, and it`s more than time to update everyone on how things are going. Some of you are probably already aware from newsletters from other missionaries here, but in case you aren`t, I`ll just briefly fill you in on a few details from July.

At the beginning of the year, we ended up accepting more students than was planned, as the need seemed to be there, and we didn`t have a good system in place for screening kids. The load was just too much, and as some volunteers had to leave, and we didn`t have good long term replacements for them, we decided to do some house cleaning. It was agonizing, but everyone worked together and it really came out for the better. We went and reviewed each and every child`s case again. Some had come on false stories, others situations had changed. Overall, we cut our numbers down to 37 children. We also closed down the day school, then re-accepted the students from the immediate community and have integrated them with our boarding students. It`s working much better, and everyone is handling life a lot easier (I didn`t say easy, just easier!) Continue reading ‘Update from Familia Feliz Educational Center | Bolivia Orphanage Project’

Dear Friends and Family,

The Brazil project keeps getting more and more exciting. There is a sea plane that has been donated. All it needs is some new floats. This is wonderful news because the plane will be able to land beside the boat and will enable us to evacuate critical patients and get emergency supplies if needed. There is also a portuguese speaking family willing to come run the aviation side of things! Isn’t God great!

We also just found out that if we left any later than next month, we would not be able to arrive to Brazil till next November (it would take a whole year!) due to the trade winds. We would have to wait in Venezuela for 5 months before being able to proceed to Brazil. It is nothing short of a miracle that God opened the doors so quickly so we could leave at the right time of year. If we leave as planned, the trip should take between 2 to 3 months.

Now you have something else to add to your prayer list: new floats for our plane!

God Bless,
Brad, Lina, and Levi Mills

Dear Family and Friends,

The last two months have been full of much activity and preparation for that day when we expect the Lord to resurrect this ministry from its “Lazarus Experience”. We see evidence all around us stating that the time is now nearer than ever. From freedom from paying import duties on station equipment being granted, to volunteers pledging to come, to an ever improving state of readiness, not to mention signs of God’s provision from other parts of this worldwide ministry, the signs all point in the same direction. Our time is almost at hand and we are doing our best in the Lord’s strength to be ready. We hope you enjoy reading this Grenada Update.

Sincerely,
John and Sue Bartels

sissons.jpgIt is very exciting to be starting our second school year. At this time, we are anticipating the arrival of our 15 students and we look forward to having a successful year teaching them more about God, the Bible, and how to keep our bodies healthy. Along with our new students, we are joined by a good group of staff members. Adrienne Stanley is a 25 year old from Michigan who recently graduated from Loma Linda University as a Dietician. She will be teaching the eight laws of health, nutrition, and anatomy and physiology. Christine Howe is a 21 year old from Alberta, Canada. She attended the Arise Institute of Evangelism and will leading out in our evangelism classes as well as helping the students with bible memorization.

Hello everyone! I hope all is well. We have been through many things these past few months and many changes have taken place within the International Health and Lifestyle Ministry. Of course, we couldn’t tell you everything that has been happening, because that would take several days. What we can do, however, is give you a brief overview of what has been taking place recently in the ministry. Thank you so much for keeping us in your prayers and keeping track of what is going on. Please continue to support us in these ways because without your prayers our own strength will fail us. God bless! Continue reading ‘International Health and Lifestyle Ministry September Updates’

Dear Friends and Family,
Our lives have been changing so rapidly in the past weeks; it has left us kind of dizzy. As many of you know, Brad and I finished our studies this summer. Brad is now a Certified Family Nurse Practitioner and is working in a family practice and in the emergency room (both part time). I am now a Registered Dental Hygienist (in addition to a nurse) and am working two afternoons per week at a local dental office. We had plans to work for a little while and pay off our school loans. Then we planned to go work in Brazil as missionaries. We returned from Bolivia in 2005 with the goal of better preparing ourselves for long term mission service. We wanted to finish these degrees and then be used by the Lord to help finish the work and share the news that His return is SO imminent. Continue reading ‘Off to Brazil | Brazil Medical Launch’
