AMA | Medical Helicopter in the Philippines
0 Comments Published by admin November 17th, 2007 in PAMAS PhilippinesBy Dwayne Harris
The last week and a half has been fun, adventurous and busy. One late afternoon about 5:00 pm we got information on a pregnant lady that had been in labor for 11 days. I was told they had a landing spot cleared and that it was flat so there would not be a problem landing. We loaded the helicopter up and I did not know where the place was so a Palawano girl rode in the passenger seat and Wendy rode in the stretcher. It was a short flight but there definition of flat is not what mine is. I had to scoot around a couple times before I found a spot flat enough to fully set the helicopter down. We went up to the hut and Wendy did a quick assessment that the lady needed to go to the hospital so we loaded her in the stretcher as quickly as possible and the husband got into the passenger seat. Continue to pray for Rovin | BMMC Update
0 Comments Published by admin November 17th, 2007 in Bethany Medical Missionary College- GuyanaDear Family and Friends,
I wanted to update you on Rovin, the little boy that needs your prayers. He was doing very well earlier this week, even walking and talking. We were all looking forward to his release from the hospital today. Unfortunately, he had a seizure on Wednesday and became verbally unresponsive and very weak. Since then he has had more seizures and Dr. Wilson is trying his best to figure out what is causing the problem. Please continue to uplift this precious child in your prayers.
Sincerely,
Gilbert and Melissa Sissons

The Bartels’ Grenada Update - Oct/Nov 2007
0 Comments Published by admin November 13th, 2007 in Global Family Network/Grenada Family NetworkDear Family and Friends,
This year has flown by and it is amazing to look back and see how the Lord has really blessed our efforts to be ready to begin the construction of our broadcast buildings and systems that will beam the message of His soon return around the world. This newsletter contains a summary of the highlights of the last two months and then a project status report that gives a holistic perspective of where we are on the project to date. It was exciting and inspiring to us to write this report and to see just how far the Lord has brought us. Thank you for joining with us in thanking the Lord for all that He has done so far. He truly “has done great things for usâ€! (Psalm 126:3, Luke 1:49)
May God bless you and grant you a very special holiday season and a happy new year!
Sincerely,
John and Sue Bartels

Special Prayer Needed - Sissons Family
0 Comments Published by admin November 9th, 2007 in Bethany Medical Missionary College- Guyana
Dear Family and Friends,
It is 5 am in Georgetown, Guyana and I have just spent my second night in the hospital at the bedside of a very sick little boy. His name is Rovin Seegolam and he is only five years old. He is the brother of Kenny Seegolam, one of my graduates of last year and current staff at BMMC. Little Rovin contracted bacterial meningitis in his village of New Amsterdam. After having a high fever and a seizure, his mother carried him to New Amsterdam Public Hospital for treatment. By God’s grace, we were able to move him from there to Davis Memorial Hospital in Georgetown where he was diagnosed by Dr. John Wilson with meningitis, a very rare condition to see in this country. I believe Rovin would have died in the public hospital due to lack of any real medical care. In fact, a nurse at the public hospital told the mother that she had better take Rovin out of there if she wanted him to live!

We are going to have new church members and they need someone to visit them in their homes, and help them with worship services.
Excellent volunteer opportunity, for 10 to 12 months, a jungle village with new church building and new members needs a Spanish-speaking person who will visit them in their homes and help them spiritually. simple, private home will be provided, with gas stove and refrigerator, floor fans, bath and shower. A married couple would be ideal, but one or two volunteers, male or female would be acceptable.

Dear Friends and family,
We are writing this letter at about 41,000 feet in the air on our way to South America. So much has happened since we last sent out a letter updating you on God’s leading in our lives. We want to take a minute to share these things with you.
Originally we had planned on flying to California to sail the catamaran from there all the way to Brazil, but due to weather patterns along the way the boat had to head south sooner than we could leave. So the boat donor and Lina’s brother are sailing the boat right now. We are scheduled to meet up with them in Grenada the beginning of December and take the boat the rest of the way to Brazil.
