We need your prayers | Familia Feliz Educational Center
0 Comments Published by admin September 16th, 2008 in Familia Feliz Educational CenterDear Friends and Family,
I regret that it has been so long since I’ve been in touch. The last couple of newsletters were sent out by my mother when my parents and little sister visited here in May and June. My life has not been boring since then by any means. Actually, I’ve maintained that one of the things I like about Bolivia is the fact that I’m never bored.
One of the non-boring parts came with dreaded realization that I’d been scammed by my lawyer and judge in Rurrenabaque, and although, according to my knowledge, Graciana, my now almost two year old little girl was officially mine in July of last year, the adoption was actually invalid. With Charlie’s adoption ready to be processed, I realized I would have to do it in Santa Cruz. I’ve now been in Santa Cruz since mid June, working on what seems an ever lengthening process, but happy with the knowledge that it’s being done right this time.
In July, God opened the way, including an about to expire airlines voucher, for me to visit home for a few weeks. It was hard to leave my kids, but Sara did a 110% job of holding down the fort for me. It had been nearly two years since my last visit home, and landing at the small Grande Prairie airport, the sweet scent of hay fields hit me. I’d forgotten how good, clean, and fresh Canada smells! Meeting my newest sister in-law and my newest nephew was exciting, but not to be out weighed by renewing the bonds with my siblings and other sister in law, and of course, a lot of other extended family. My ticket for comong back got messed up, and I ended up being able to attend ASI in Florida. Continue reading ‘We need your prayers | Familia Feliz Educational Center’

If there is any information which needs to be added or omitted please let us know otherwise we would like for it published on the web as soon as humanely possible.
Best Regards,

The Joseph Bates School is in its initial stages. Headed by Lidia Baez Candelario, former Academic Sub Director as missionary volunteer at the Richard Gates Industrial School in Bolivia, she has endeavored to start an Industrial school in Villa Alta Gracia Dominican Republic, a poor, small rural community outside of Santo Domingo.

From the Bolivian jungle | Educational Secondary Industrial School
0 Comments Published by admin September 10th, 2008 in Educational Secondary Industrial SchoolThe time has come when those who choose the Lord for their present and future portion must trust in Him alone. Everyone professing godliness must have an experience of his own. 1T p 262
It is God’s goal for each one of us to have a personal experience in trusting Him. In trusting in Him alone. It goes against human nature to trust God for our daily needs. We prefer to trust in our work, in our parents, our retirement funds or social security. And yet the time is coming and I believe is at the door when all those things will be removed from us. If at that time we are unaccustomed to standing steady on the promises of God, how shall we stand?
It is one of our goals to teach this form of trust in God to our students. This last week God gave us the perfect opportunity to share this experience with the students. We had come to the end of the month, an especially tight month financially. We had tried to use the money frugally, we had made and sold 12,000 bricks, and still found ourselves one week from the beginning of the next month with only $7 left over. That left us a bit shy of the $575 that we spend weekly on food alone (to feed all 85 people on campus), and doesn’t come anywhere near paying for diesel and maintenance on the truck and generator or cement for the continued construction of the new classrooms. Special Medical Missionary Training for Myanmar Union Workers Phamor Phoopichitprai
The reason I conducted this meeting
I am a third-generation Adventist and have worked for the Thailand Adventist Mission for forty years, but I previously had no knowledge on the Health-reform message.
When I first learned about health-reform, I blamed my ignorance on the missionaries that came into Thailand and Myanmar, who were vegetarians but did not teach others about it. Later on, I came to the realization that it was my own fault because I did not search for this message, Continue reading ‘Phamor Phoopichitprai - Karen Outlook’

McDaniels’ return from US
We would like to say thank you to everyone for your prayers and words of encouragement as we mourned the death of Warren’s father in February. We are back in Guyana and Taylor is back in Venezuela receiving training and finishing the work. Also, thank you for your patience with this very late newsletter. I will try to include everything for the remainder of the year. So this may be long, but it will be informative. (Think of it as one of those “David Gates’ newspapers-I mean newsletters-SMILE!). Here goes. Thanks again for everything and keep us in prayer.

Bolivia Industrial School | Greetings from Bolivia
1 Comment Published by admin June 25th, 2008 in Educational Secondary Industrial SchoolDear Family and Friends,
On Tuesday, while we were in town, we received an email from one of the girls that graduated from our school last year. Earlier this year she moved to Cochabamba (a large city in central Bolivia) to study nursing. She saved some money and did literature evangelism in order to pay for her travel expenses. In Cochabamba she stayed with her aunt and uncle and worked in their wood shop in exchange for room and board and the cost of her studies.

FIELD SCHOOL IN ACTION
What is field school? It is education that centers around Christ with the intent to equip mission leaders with the knowledge and skills required on the front lines. This was the second annual field school held on BMMCs campus and was organized by Pastor Andrew Farrel, Ministerial Secretary for the Caribbean Union Conference. Our students really enjoyed Pastor Farrel’s warm personality and one on one interaction. We were also blessed to have Pastor Stanton Adams, Pastor Sherwin White and Elder Branford Burke from the Guyana Conference of Seventh Day Adventists lead out in lectures. The meetings were conducted from May 15th-23rd and some of the topics that were lectured upon included: biblical foundations for family life, communication, preparation for marriage, evangelism techniques, and how to prepare a sermon.

Cannot be Hidden Institute | Testimonies from Bible Workers
0 Comments Published by admin June 15th, 2008 in Cannot Be Hidden Institute of Evangelism -AustraliaThanks to Zeb for sharing this
“…Something that happened yesterday (4 June 2008), which I still cannot put my head around. Last year I prayed for $3000 to buy a car, which the Lord graciously provided the last day before I left the college. Last week my ‘faith car’ began having mechanical problems, something to do with the water pump leaking water. So I began visiting different mechanics looking around for one who could offer the best deal. Anyway early that morning I had found out that a sister in the faith had given a gift to me of $200 dollars, which turned out to be 70% of the money needed to fix the car. So that was miracle No.1. Now this is where things get interesting! The mechanic said that I could leave the car in the shop and he would have it fixed by Friday. Just when I was about to agree I hesitated as I looked out the doors. It was pouring down rain. It was at least a 3 km walk to the train station (which normally I wouldn’t mind), but on this day I had a few electronic items in my bag which I didn’t see liking the water too much
During this hesitation, the mechanic that owned the shop saw my hesitation, and offered to drive me to the train station. Praise God for this!
