AMA Cameroon, Africa

Hi again,

Well, by the time I get this sent you might have a whole book from me!! Anyway, if I don’t keep writing as I go I will forget and never get it done.

Friday we left mid morning for Limbe (pronounced Leem-bay) where Bernadine’s company’s guest house is. They say it is about an hour drive from here, but we stopped a couple places on our way out, and I forgot to look at the time when we really got going. We also were stopped 2 or 3 times at police checkpoints, which is really common here. Anyway, the house was really pretty nice and even had a/c! What I was really surprised about though, was hot showers! Normally you don’t want hot showers here, but when you have a/c I guess you kind of need it.It has 3 bedrooms and each one has it’s own bathroom. Here all the bathrooms are tile, with a drain in the middle and somewhere a shower head, but no specific shower, so the whole bathroom gets wet. So, even though it was a pretty nice place it still had the wet bathrooms! Normally the kitchens here are very small too, with about 2 cupboard under the sink. Dear Family and Friends,

Greetings from Cameroon. I guess I should say “Bonjour!” Anyway, we are FINALLY here and starting to get back to “normal”, whatever that is! We arrived around 11pm local time last Wed night. Now I was looking forward to hot weather after all the cold, but when we walked off the plane it hit like a wave. It was stifling!!! And we have been hot ever since!! :-) Be careful what you wish for!! It really seems more hot and humid than Guyana if that is possible, but I suppose that is partly because we aren’t used to it anymore. I’m sure we will adjust. I remember it was pretty hot in Guyana at first too. Continue reading ‘“Bonjour!”AMA Cameroon- Africa’
