November 2018 Tsushima Volunteer Mission Report

Hello Everyone.

During the past 3 months I could see that God’s Holy Spirit has been working very strongly in the lives of people here. Through our ministry’s daily work, God let us meet a new family who had been struggling for long time. Ms Kuroiwa has a son and a daughter. Her son is 10 years old and her daughter is 13 years old. When we met them for the first time 3 months ago, they had no hope and seemed very helpless. Both of her children have resisted attending public school and not going out of the home since last year. Ms. Kuroiwa was very worried about her children. In my country it is mandatory for kids to go to school up to the age of 15. One day I invited the mom to our nature school and she openly explained everything that happened in her family. Her situation seemed very complicated and was not easy to solve alone, so I told her about Jesus who takes care of our burdens and guides our life better than we could do on our own. We prayed together and I gave her some Christian books. After we prayed together, God answered our prayer. By his miracle, her kids opened their hearts to go to our nature school and now they have been attending our school program 3 times a week. Their mom is reading Bible promises everyday and she also reads Christian books for her children. She said to us she never felt such a peace before and now she recognizes God’s intervention in her life. Now she wants to know more about God and started asking many questions about God during our meetings. Please pray for the Kuroiwa family so the day they are saved by Jesus will come soon.

We have had another miracle of God’s intervention in the last few weeks as well. The principal of the local free school, who introduced the Kuroiwa family to us, warned us to avoid religious topics during our meetings since the effort for the Kuroiwa family is connected to the Tsushima education board. This is not the first time I have received a warning of this kind. But without telling the truth to students, our ministry cannot accomplish our purpose which is to spread the Gospel to those who never heard of Jesus. So I was praying and expecting God to do something great for our work. God answered our prayer again. During our most recent meeting between Ms. Kuroiwa, the principle and I, the school principal’s face looked very nervous again so I thought she would give us a warning again not to tell about Jesus to Kuroiwa family. Ms. Kuroiwa had recently told the principal that she is praying to God and reading the Bible verse and God is giving her strong peace and strength every day. But this time something was different. The free school principle told us that she had a dream of Jesus Christ and He told her in the dream that He is the Son of God and true Savior, then He took her in his arms and flew into the sky and showed the universe and all the created things. After the dream she woke up with tears.

What a wonderful miracle! God showed himself in her dream. Now she does not say anything to me even when I tell about Jesus to the students and parents. Yesterday the principal even asked us to sing the song “What a friend we have in Jesus.” I was very shocked when she asked, and as I looked at her it seemed she had the peace of Jesus.

God answers our prayers and works in people’s heart when we pray for them.

But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain.
