Tsushima Volunteer Mission Report – May 2021

Seeing God at Work in the Little Things

Spring Is Here!  I praise the name of the Lord.

Spring has already arrived here, and cherry blossoms and rape seed blossoms can be seen everywhere.

This month, we had the graduation ceremony for my eldest daughter from elementary school, and I just want to thank God for meeting our needs and protecting and supporting us through many years. I really feel that God is always with us.

Answered Prayer

We also have other exciting news to share. Yumeka, whom we helped at the nature school every week, worked hard and successfully passed the entrance exam for a high school in Tsushima.

She had been coming to our classrooms for almost three years, and when we first met her, she seemed so gloomy that she couldn’t even have a proper conversation.

Even so, as we shared the Bible, talked about the love of Jesus, prayed, cooked together, played sports, and walked together. God worked on her heart and now she speaks very well and is cheerful.

On the last day of her class in our school, I asked her the following question. “What is your dream for the future?” And she said, “I don’t have a dream yet, but there is one thing I want. It’s a friend.” She hadn’t had any friends for a long time. So I told her the scripture from the Gospel of Matthew 7:7.  “Ask, and it shall be given to you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.”  We prayed for her to have a friend. Jesus is faithful to answer even the smallest of our prayers.

After a while, I received an email from her mother. She told me that Yumeka had a friend named Ceara. When I saw the picture, I was surprised to find out that her friend was a student of mine who had attended my English class 3 years ago. Ceara was very kind to all her friends, and is always smiling and honest. We also talked to Ceara about the Bible in English class, so Ceara also knew about Jesus. God really gave Yumeka the right friend and faithfully made her dream come true.

I pray that they will encourage each other, pray for each other, and have a rich high school life together, especially I pray for them not to forget their best Friend, Jesus in their life.

We are Growing

On a personal note. We are expecting our third daughter in the beginning of June. If she is born safely, I will be the only male in the family with three daughters, my wife, and a female cat, and I will be in a weak position. I would appreciate it if you could pray for the safe birth of our baby.

Expecting a Busy Farming Year Ahead

From now on, the farm will be getting busier and busier. Please pray that we will be able to invite local people this year also to the farm and show them the love of Jesus.

People who come to our farm are very happy to get fruits for free and enjoy talking with us every year. By building a good relationship with local people here, we have more chance to tell Jesus and his love.

Please pray that the crops will be protected as much as possible from typhoons and the long rainy season, that our health and hearts will be protected, and that we will not take our eyes off the Lord at any time. The devil is always on the move trying to damage our hearts and prevent us from doing the work of the gospel. I pray that the Lord will always protect you and give you abundant blessings to lead you to the best.

And the LORD, He is the One who goes before you. He will be with you, He will not leave you nor forsake you; do not fear nor be dismayed.
