Most people like the rain; the moisture of rejuvenated landscapes, the scent that emerges when the liquid mingles with dry earth. Rain, the majority of the time, is considered a blessing. Except, of course, when torrential downpour provokes landslides in the mountainous Beni district of Bolivia.

For over a year now, we’ve been faced with an ominous challenge: Come up with $26,000 for a newly overhauled Continental O470-L32B airplane engine.

This year we have a more focused vision to do a lot of Bible training in this region of Chad. We plan to conduct various short (2-3 week?) training sessions in different villages. In addition to this, we plan to distribute solar mp3 players with Scripture and other material, and we hope to set up a small printing operation.

As you remember, last November 8, the world’s biggest typhoon hit the central Philippines and as we jumped into action with air support, medical missions, and tarp/relief distribution, we were counting on you, our faithful friends and supporters to come through– and you did not fail us!

We are happy to finally be back in Chad! After some delays and a canceled flight, we finally flew out on December 15. We are now home and working on arranging and unpacking and cleaning and repairing.

I never once doubt HIS divine providence although financially we’re experiencing a long drought. But like you said… We’re still working, what more can we ask for, right?

It has been a very fruitful weekend for relief /recovery work for northern Panay by the RiverView SDA church, ACS, as well as by PAMAS and HCBN volunteers. Purchases of relief goods were done the whole of last Friday and after Sabbath morning services at RiverView, packing began.
